China has canceled its contract with Westinghouse to build 2 new neuclear reactors, and has instead granted the contract to a French company. The contract was worth 5.3 billion dollars. While you want to make mud pies to throw at Al Gore, you are not paying attention to the shift in global energy dynamics.

The more hot air this man spews the worse it gets. Now people are putting solar cells on their roofs. What they don't understand is it takes 20 years of energy to make a solar cell. BP Solar which is 30 miles from where I live is the biggest energy user in the area. Solar cells have their purpose, but this is not it.

We get it that you don't like Al Gore. I have to laugh at your demonizing the Gore family for growing Tobaco. For many years it was a liberal cause to get the tobacco industry to acknowledge the dangers of smoking. I guess you are implying that Global Warming is the next big rip off conspiracy. How sad for you. It must really stick in your craw that such an evil man can convince millions of people to do the wrong things.

My opinion is that he's convincing millions of people to do the right thing for the wrong reasons. I find gore's Inconvient Truth to be both deceptive and misleading.
We do need to transition to a more energy efficient society, as well as transition ourselves off foreign oil. But not for the reasons he suggests.
There are still too many unanswered questions to truly understand how our ecosystem works.
For instance: We can not even determine how much the average rainfall/snowfall we accumulate (global precipitation)* over year is.
Yet by far, the leading Greenhouse gas in our atmosphere is Water Vapor.
How can we determine man is the root cause for the changes we are seeing in our environment, When we cant even answer the simplest of questions.

i would say that on the face of it..its the ultimate in arrogance to think we can affect the climate of the earth--about as much as we can change the climate on mars--which conicidentally is exactly the same amount and rate as we have here on earth--i wonder how bush is responsible for that--but this isnt about global warming..its about making the american public feel guilty enough so the lib dems can try to socialize more and more of your life--like hillary wants to take control of the oil companies--its just the latest money grab from the big govternment left--global warming is one thing..whats causing it and what can be done about it is another..BTW..far and away the single biggest greenhouse gas..something like 88% water vapor..how do you suggest we fix that--its not global warming..its more like water vapor and weather creating global cooling--without global cooling the average temp world wide would be about 37 degrees higher--that would change things

Each time I think I've confirmed how out of touch with reality Al Gore is, he extends Webster's definition of inane. He has earned Hollywood's idolic rapture for whatever that is worth and places him in company with Michael Moore .. another documentary wizard. Next, the norse nimrods of Norway will most probably award Al a Nobel 'piece' prize.

Questions for Mr Gore:
1. Al, if people are causing temp changes, why is Mars also heating up ? Al, could it have anything to do with the sun's output, which is at a cyclical high?
2. Al, since volcanic activity has been on the increase each decade since 1900, and since volcanic gas (SO2) is a greenhouse gas, could this have anything to do with temp change?
3. Al, the earth has natural heating and cooling cycles. 100,000 years ago the glaciers stopped at the Great Lakes and melted. 20,000 years ago Florida was below sea level and then temps cooled, ice froze and sea levels dropped and
Florida appeared. Could our present temps have anything to do with natural cooling/heating cycles?
Gore is a political opportunist who misses the spotlight after losing a close election. This is merely his way of making himself feel important.
I'm proud to say my vote in 2000 was one of the 538 that kept him out of the White House.

It pretty much discredited your whole arguement since there is no way of knowing that it was one of your votes that kept him out of office. Wishful thinking perhaps. ummm... how does his last statement discredit his whole argument? granted it has nothing to do with his previous statements. ( and I aggree it should have been left out) However thats not to say you should dismiss the entire argument.
Next time you read an article you disagree with, try to argue the points presented. Eveyone has they're own political biases, that doesnt mean you can discredit everthing they say.

While we all get fat driving our minivans to the mall oblivious to the outside world (unless there is a war there ) the EC is fast overtaking us . If you don't like Gore, go over to the politics section and make your comments there. I aggree, Gore is making cash hand over fist, but I Think Gore Truely believes in his cause. Thats not to say I agree with him, nor do I aggree with means in which he is promoting his Idea's.
Heck, If I had money to invest, I'd invest in "green" companies... not because I believe man is the cause of global warming, but because many are just good investments.
Id like to think there are many people out there like myself who aggree that many of the changes are good, but dont aggree with the method of promoting it.
hydrogen,ethenol,solar,wind even nuclear, All great Ideas. Lets work on Making it more available and cost effective.
Energy efficiant light bulbs are awsome.. ( except for the fact I cant use them with a dimmer...Why cant I use them with a dimmer damn-it? ) However I still want the option to use a regular light bulb ( especially in the area's where I want a dimmer lol )

You have come to the wrong conclusion. Gore buys carbon offsets which are made available by a company he helped found. Is he the only one buying these offsets? No. Environmental mitigation has been around for years. It is your perception that is alarmist.
