There cannot be any energy savings due to erratic clock readings, of course.
If DST is really a necessity, then to make people start work earlier (or later) is a more logical solution than tuning clocks to false time.
Let us analyze DST.
Summer. DST. We wake up in the morning earlier and do not take advantage of the fact that the sun rises earlier. The day is longer, but we go to bed earlier. No energy saving - just the opposite... We waste more.
Winter. The day is shorter. We wake up later but it is still dark - no saving! and we go to bed later, as well. No energy saving - nothing is "saved", it is lost.
So, we don't save energy, we waste more.
We waste more and we buy more. Oh, it is clear now... Those who sell energy waste energy but get more money, right?

It's politically correct to have DST "to save energy," and when anything is politically correct, it would take all the power of heaven to change it. Even that may not be enough.

I was sad to learn in spring 2006 that my old home the state in Indiana had succumbed to the Daylight-Savings madness. The way the world is changing, people are making their own hours anyway, the whole time change thing reeks of early 20th century industrial economy needs, like workers showing up on time en mass. I do not see the point, I would rather let people shift their schedules around as they see fit.

dst is the most retarded idea ever leave it to the u.s to make something up to screw with people. not all states practice this and that makes them more intelligent than the rest of the country. it dose not save energy it most likley uses more energy
