  Of course we can be that stupid. And not just for global warming, for anything environmental (protection of endangered species, etc. etc.). We say:

  a) It will hurt the economy

  b) it's not our fault

  c) we can't do anything about it anyway

  d) we can do anything we want as we "own" this planet

  and on and on

  Amen to that. We are that stupid and will continue to be that stupid because most people are greedy and selfish and just want what they want. Who cares if there is an earth for our children and grand children as long as we can use all the coal, oil, natural resources of all kinds in any way we choose with out concern for the consequences. Every time congress tries to do something for the environment Mr. Bush simply vetos it and says we are not in danger. I pray that it is not to late when he leaves office to try to recover.
