Marriage does not commonly involve children. It is a legally binding commitment between adults, with children as a possible result of some marriages. POSSIBLE. Not required in any way.

And even sentience is a baseline requirement. For example, some religions consider animals to be sentient and humans still can't marry animals. At least I haven't heard of such marriages in Buddhist countries.
As far as modern society is concerned minors don't have the right to engage in sexual relations or marriage without parental consent and this guy is predicting robots will in 50 years? Allow me to be just a tad skeptical about that.
And what exactly is the great incentive for a government to grant marital status and privileges to someone who wants to marry a robot? Wouldn't that mean the government recognizes the robot as a person or at least as an equivalent?
Here's my forecast, not only people will not be marrying robots by 2050, but we still won't have friggin' flying cars. Unless you are like a multi millionaire or something. And in that case you could buy one now, although it seems the rich favor planes more.

What you said applies almost exclusively to pre-20th century Christian society.
This might come as a shock, but most of the world does not live in such a society. And in US I can think only of Amish to whom all your generalizations would be applicable.

This qualifies the huge majority of all sexual activity as masterbation, regardless of the genders, numbers, or species involved. And take it from the voice of experience, Red, some of it can be VERY sophisticated.
Is the relationship between yourself and your best same-gendered friend "unsophisticated masterbation"? Your same-gendered parent? Offspring?
Stay on the porch until you can run with the big dogs, Red.

I doubt you could marry one, but think about it. There is no upkeep. They can do housework, or any other wifely duties. Don't have to buy them food, take them out to dinner, or kiss them behind the ear. They don't talk back, I bet the Impeached one is already on the list to get one of the first ones off the assembly line. I already told my husband if he buys one, he's outta here!!

Well hey! Why not? We're marrying off gay people now aren't we?, so, why not? lol
Personally, I don't think the world will last past 2013, I may be off by a decade, so 2023 would be my final guess. No worries, this will never come to pass.

If there are guys out there who will fool around with a blow-up doll, don't be surprised if one day you start feeling jeolous of a robot as your rival. For one thing, robots don't age...they UP-grade.
