Bill Fitzhugh, director of the Smithsonian's Arctic Studies Center, suggested the idea, writing in an e-mail, "It seems silly not to include the arctic, where climate research has been so productive and so prominent, and where the impacts of change also include humans."
In an interview, Fitzhugh said that from the beginning, the exhibit was meant to focus on anthropology, not the climate.
"We were not doing an exhibit on modern climate formation," Fitzhugh said. "There are some things we can't do easily because we're in the political limelight. We have to walk a difficult line."

I'm confused, gama, that you neged my post, when I think what I said was what your quote from Fitzhugh said. Maybe I didn't say it as well.
Not complaining, just curious.

Just because there is uncertainty that doesn't mean that we shouldn't continue the lowering of human additions to the natural cycles. I don't see making a federal case out of this instance.

Meanwhile, conservative think tanks claimed that "climate exhibit change" is "unproven science."

I don't see what the problem here is.
Whether you believe in the severity of global climate change or it's causes it doesn't change the fact that there is uncertainty to what the results will be. The Smithsonian is a prestigious museum with a reputation to uphold so it seems they did what they thought was in the best interest in the accuracy of the display.
Try not to blow little things out of proportion.

The Administratin is so deeply invested in spin mastering that they actually seem to believe that not just politics, but the physical universes can be turned around by spin.
