Yeah, that 23andme / Google link is very scary - surprised more media outlets havent't picked up on it.

Some fool that knows not what to do with his money will pay the $999.00 to get his genone and then what does he have and what does he do with it. What's next-maybe, I'll start something called "hysby" and charge $5,000.00 for each to purchase. Who knows, someone may buy it.

Secret Government meeting:
Secret man #1 - "We've got almost everyone in America cross referenced. What now?"
Secret man #2 - "Yes, Homeland security has all the ISP's cooperating and ..."
man #1 - "And the funny thing is because of our law, the Patriot Act, the ISP can't even tell their clients on the web that we're monitoring every last one of them! Haha."
man #2 - "Well what about that genome idea that #3 had?"
man #1 - "Jeeze, you think the American public will go for us mapping their genomes? Won't they ever catch on?"
man #2 - "Hey, we've almost got them going for the chip implants, why not? Do the terrorist scare again."
man #1 - "Yeah, and there might even be a way to avert suspicion about what we're doing."
man #2 - "What's that?"
man #1 - "Get them to pay for it themselves. Charge them a high price to fill OUR data bank!"
man #2 - "Brilliant!"
High fives all around.

I saw something on CNN this morning about this guy who had figured out his human genome code. He wants to start a business and do it for everyone and charge you $1,000 for it.

Google is backing a startup, 23andMe. 23andMe calls itself the "first personal genome service." I'm not sure how accurate this really is, since deCODE Genetics recently launched deCODEme, which seems similar.
