Obviously younger adults make more risky responses than safe responses.

I guess I am not at all surprised by this. Older people are going to have a rich history of memories of similar decision points, what was decided, and how that played out. So in consulting all these related memories, it is only to be expected that more areas of the brain would light up, and that the process would take longer.

Well yeah. Why do you think they want the young to be soldiers? Us older vets know what is up. Thats why I listened to my sarge more than my looneytentant.
My sarge had years in service and was pretty savvy. My looneytenant was a 90 day wonder with less field experience than me. LOL
Same thing in life. Listen to a college grad with no life experience and a manager with years of experience. The book may say one thing but reality is another.
