I had a huge grey jay snatch a sandwich out of my hand my first day backpacking in the Grand Tetons. Glad it wasn't T. Rex!

    It grabbed the entire sandwich, although it dropped some of it as it flew away. Of course, I wasn't hanging on tightly with the expectation that Big Bird would swoop down and steal my lunch.

        We have large blue jays where I live, and they also are quite aggressive. I really like them, though, and they do get "tame" pretty easily and are like backyard "pets!"
        Sounds like a well-thought-out travel kit, btw!
